Scott Wagner

President of Connected Living - Assurant

Scott Wagner is the President of the Connected Living Products team at Assurant. In partnership with the Regional Business Leaders, Scott is responsible for leading the growth and profitability of the division’s core products which today produce >$4 billion in revenue annually and one third of the company’s EBITDA. In this recently created role, Scott is building dedicated product teams focused on Product Strategy, Innovation, and Management for core solutions such as Mobile Device Protection, Extended Service Contracts, and Trade-in and Upgrade.

He is an accomplished and versatile Wireless Industry executive with a strong track record of creating value for shareholders and customers. Over the last two decades Scott’s experiences have touched nearly every operating function within the wireless ecosystem and its key players… having forged successful commercial relationships with the 5 largest US wireless carriers, 3 largest device OEMs, and the largest wireless retailers.

Scott’s roots are in finance, and he was one of the first members of the finance team at Sprint PCS when it began as a JV between Sprint, TCI, Cox and Comcast. He began in Corporate Finance but quickly transitioned to Finance Operations roles… and as a Divisional CFO built and led finance teams that supported most operating groups within the company. As the Divisional CFO for Sprint’s $20B Consumer Division, he led an amazing team of >400 finance professionals who worked tirelessly to help grow and optimize the operations.

Scott co-founded HYLA Mobile in 2009 with a small group of fellow wireless industry veterans. At the time, U.S. consumers were upgrading their mobile devices every 18 months and casting aside their displaced devices into desk drawers and closets with many of them ending up in landfills. HYLA’s pioneering trade-in solution addressed this problem and has reclaimed >55 million cell phones and prevented over 6,500 tons of e-waste from being added to our landfills!

Scott joined Assurant through its acquisition of HYLA Mobile in late 2020 and he has been with the company for just over one year.

He holds a B.S. in business finance from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. He has also completed executive programs at the Harvard Business School and the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.

Scott and his wife Susan reside in Overland Park, Kansas and are the proud parents of two adult daughters.
